Nordic winter, some years ago

I am cleaning up photos in old folders. Deleting what I do not want to keep and saving and storing the ones I want to keep and share again. I found these photos taken January  in 2007, right after the new year, on an early afternoon. The light was magic. The lake and the nature very quiet. No wind. Juts the sky, the ice and the sun.

Clouds on a Finnish lake n.4

This photo was taken last July while we were at our summer cottage in Eastern Finland. I liked to wait for the time of the day when clouds would appear and create nice contrast with the water of the lake.

Clouds on a Finnish summer lake

Finnish lake

I took this photo from the pier of our cottage in Finland, last July. It must have been around 10:00pm. The clouds moved slowly as there was little or no wind. Enough time to capture their reflection in the calm water of the lake.

15 years, today. This is for you, with love.

Clouds reflection

I took this photo from the pier of our cottage in Finland, last July. This must have been at 10:00pm or so. The water was still and the clouds just reflected in it.

London underground n.1

London tube

I was in London for a week in late June. The usual week I spend there before the summer holiday, catching up with the colleagues at the Overseas Development Institute. This year I wanted to pay attention to two things while in London:  1) interesting perspectives of the urban landscape ; 2) people in their daily life. This photo was taken at Heathrow while walking to the Heathrow Express underground station. I like the perspective and reflections.

Kookoo’s sunset

We returned to the Kookoo’s Nest in Zamboanguita, Negros Oriental (Philippines). Best eco-resort I know.

Summer sunset in Åland

The last stage of our summer trip last July has been a ferryboat ride from Stockholm to Helsinki. We left Sweden at about 4pm and by sunset we arrived at the Åland islands. Not a single cloud. The colours were incredible.

Dedicated to my Zia Antonietta.

People in motion in the tube in Singapore

The tube in Singapore transports ca. 744 million passengers per year. That is about 2 million per day. I like sitting in the tube stations with my camera and watch the people walking in and out the trains, up and down with the escalators, pushing a pram, running to catch a train, pulling luggages and shopping bags. There is energy in the tube stations in Singapore.

Love of light

Lights in the night

One evening, last year, we went out into the garden in our house in Dumaguete City (Philippines). I tried out writing into the night together with my daughters. It worked!
